I like OH. Last I checked (when I was ticketed in 1998), they do not report vioations to other states as long as the ticket is paid. So my PA DL never had any points assessed. Dunno if they have since joined the Compact Sandman mentioned. They also set moving violation fines by county. The nice Patrolman told me that I was lucky he caught me in the 2 mile section of I-80 in the county we were in. The fine would have doubled on either side of that county border.

So IL is one of those states that require payment on site for a ticket? Wacky. At least PA (and OH) trusts me to send a check in 10 days. Of course, a few weeks ago we had lines out the door to Traffic Court in Philly because the city was about to implement Live Stop and everyone had to get settled up.

I bet AAA makes a killing out there (Bond Card is part of membership). If I ever drive in IL, I'll be sure to be carrying mine.
