I'd recommend engineering as well, probalby mechanical. You are good at the fundementals, whhether you enjoy it or not, so some of the applied engineering classes that use the fundementals in college is where you'll get a feel for how much you like it. But engineering salaries pay well, are generally regarded highly, and give good experience. Career wise, engineering can be a pretty rewarding choice, but it also makes a great background if you choose to switch to management or consulting or many other manufacturing industry positions.
