I got rid of the Contour today. I bought a 1998 Bravada for the unreal price of $8k. 80k babied miles, it really shows the one owner took great care of it. I was a little upside down but the total financed was still well below what Bravada's are usually going for.
It's different, that's for sure. The handling is a complete disconnect to my brain, I am so used to the hard-wired response of the Contour.
I don't plan on going anywhere, so I hope noone minds me trollin'. Too many great people here!!

No offense, but I wouldn't drive a free Bravada.

You guys are idiots.. I had both the SVT and the Jimmy (rebadged Bravada). Very different cars, but the Bravada has a 1000x nicer interior. Good luck with the truck! Just be careful with the high-speed lane changes and such, I managed to get my truck onto two wheels on the 2nd day I had the truck. Wasn't ready for that.

i wouldnt drive a free suv period.... save for a humvee or a lex rx300 (mothers got one, doesnt handle like a truck, more like a floaty car)
just eat too much gas, take up too much space in parking garages, lanes, earth. not to mention were i to get boradsided by say a suburban in the tour on the drivers side i'm pretty sure i'd buy the farm because some soccer mom's too proud to get a volvo wagon.

That's an excellent deal!
I fully expected to see the anti-SUV contingent to pop up with some ridiculous comments. I'm relieved to see that nothing has changed since the last time an SUV was mentioned.

I'm not really all that anti-SUV. If you like 11mpg, a rollover during a 10mph turn, killing someone in an Aspire in a 5mph collision, then an SUV is all for you. I had a 97 Jeep GC and that thing was awful. The gas gauge fell faster than the stock market. The only SUV I've ridden in and driven that I liked was my dad's ML. But that thing looks like a minivan with big wheels. And like Matt said, the streets are filled with incoherent and incompetent soccer moms in Excursions and Suburbans that would kill any of us in little more than a fender bender.

Watch it with the teenagers junk...My mom and I just looked at a 2002 Bravada for me lastnite, VERY nice! Was black with gray leather just we'll have 4 cars (we're not trading the 'Tique or the 6000 -- the 'Tique is still a beautiful car, and the 6000 will be worth big $$$ in a few years ) but good luck with the 'Vada and great price!
