The problem with the PI version of the CV is that it has a bolt on the axle that perforates the gas tank upon rear impact (the civilian version does not have this bolt), leaking fuel and resulting in the fatal fires. All Ford has to do is redesign one bolt (make it a rivet). I don't have a problem requiring Ford to do this if it will save even one life, police officer or otherwise.
