Not that I am claiming to be (or even close to)--LOL--but relationships work when both parties are mature. I am beginning to find that as you discover what makes you happy, and you are happy with yourself, people that "treat you like crap" don't appeal. It's not really a "nice" guy syndrome, it's really more of a "that guy has it together" thing. Sure, at first the bad guys appeal, but eventually, women want to treat and be treated with respect. Unfortunately, sometimes things don't always work out no matter how much you put into it. But breaking it down nice guy vs. bad guy isn't really it, it's more about where you are in your life in relation to the person you are dating/seeing/married to. And yes, in many cases, women stay with men because they have been put down enough to blame themselves, or they think they can "save" someone (aka mothering instinct). Sorry for the long post, but that is my opinion.
