What I have tried to establish is a site that anyone can visit (like children). Common decency is the key here.

You can talk about women all you want, I just don't want to see pictures posted. Since I run the site, anything posted here reflects on me, and I don't want any part of that.

You are an idiot for preaching to Lance as this is his site. At the same time the CEGers aka the members are what makes the site great, and ignoring them will degrade the site over all.

www.gunsnet.net, which I frequent alot (my other hobby) has all gun related forums, and then a "lounge" area. Why not have an off topic section with a disclaimer "the opinions expressed have nothing to with site owner..etc" and let all non tour topics (i.e. Hottest chick or street race) go in their and it relieve you of any liability. I think that if you had an unmoderated section you'd find that less time would be spent by moderators locking posts or deleting them entirely.

Again, it's your site do what you want, just don't forget why the site is so great.

BBBZZZZZ wrong. the donations IIRC were for a better server since the old one was not able to handle the load so if the people were not here the load on the server would be less so the old server would still be in use (so it would be here but not as we know it).

Some people have already decided this but in any large group of people you are going to find some that just can not get along.

Trying to do ? I think he is doing a very good job of keeping it a family place to hang out and talk about cars and all things related to them and some things that are not.

I believe that Lance has the right to run this site as he wishes due to the obviously overlooked fact that this is HIS site and no one else's.

This is also his house, we are invited to come in, look around, even use the bathroom if we must, but in no circumstance are we allowed to violate the House rules.

Lance, please do not listen or be influenced by the few that come in here with the loudest mouths and the most arrogance on display. They have no respect and do not understand the value that this site has to the more mature.

If you decide to make new rules regarding the OT Forum, please do not just update the user agreement. Remember that only the new user's will see it and not the already registered user's. I do not know much about UBB's, but maybe there is a way to make a pop up that everyone must read and agree to when they click on the link to the Forums from the main page.

I've been around long enough to realize that this is a car site and even though we have an off topic area that doesn't mean that we can do whatever we want in here.

I think the off topic forum was a good addition because there are some intelligent and interesting discussions that go on in here between fellow enthusiasts that aren't directly related to our cars and the general forum wasn't the place for it.

I understand Lance's request to try and keep everything in good taste so with that said....it won't be my fault if we lose the off topic forum.

I agree with what BP said about the Off Topic forum. Some people come here with stuff about their personal lives, and Off Topic is the place to discuss those. Some people find comfort in discussing personal issues on here, and that is fine.

I agree with everyone here (except Moonlight) ...

and CEG rocks. We are a big, very diverse group and it's so interesting to see all the different opinions here.
