Well, I agree it won't "warn" you but I have had it go off when I was being clocked by it. Only twice though, and I am sure I've been "shot" more than that.

I use a CB radio, too. Since Lidar is stationary at this point, most truckers will comment on the officer pointing his LIDAR at everyone. You can hear about speed traps 20 miles ahead.

Fortunately, age has slowed me down. I am usually not more than 8 MPH over and use the Detector more for amusement than protection. In my more exuberant youth, I came close to losing driving privileges in NY because of the point issue thing. Seemed NY doesn't like it's drivers accumulating lots of speeding tickets.

My scanner has CB reception too. Like I said, had I not had the volume down, I would have heard the air unit talking to the ground units and taken "evasive" action. But by the time I got close enough to get the "remote transmitter" alert beep, I had already been "clocked".

Also, I had heard that Iowa was no longer using aircraft for speed enforcement. Obviously that was false! shocked
