My radar detector was useless because they used aircraft.
Beware any low flying aircraft that don't seem to be going anywhere but back and forth over the highway. I always keep my eyes to the sky as well as the road on a clear day on the interstate.

I noticed this going on in OH a few years back. Single engine plane, drifting back and forth over the road, not really getting any further away from me. I immediately set the cruise for the limit and spent the next 45 minutes doing that. I'd never seen that before, but my uncle described what they do with that sort of speed enforcement, so I knew what it was. I wasn't surprised to see a LINE of OH Highway Patrol cruisers sitting on the shoulder near a barracks along the Turnpike, as well as the few people I saw go blazing past me up the road a bit getting citations.

Don't bother with a jammer. Not only are they illegal, and most (if not all) don't truly work, but they are second-rate as detectors. Meaning, with a good detector you'll have more than enough warning and much more warning than a jammer will give you.
