Thats exactly what a dealer was telling me a few months ago when I was looking for a SVT. "These cars are hot....everyone wants one" Honest, he really told me that  The car had been there for a few months already it was a 00 with 27K on the clock, asking 18,500. I was insulted.

Finally bought one from a CEG'er for $12,000 with 30,000 miles. I saved myself $6500 for a one model year older car with only 3 thousand more miles. I feel like I came out a little ahead.

And the 00 SVT was still at the dealer as of last week. :p

I think it's important that people know how to drive MTX. Just in case......
I relearned after 15 years when I bought my 00 SVT. Now I have an automatic, and there are many days I wish for the manual.

Speaking of high dealer prices on the SVT, I have a similar post in this forum about my traded in SVT still being for sale 6 months later. They want 18 for it.....18,000 miles. I laughed when they told me that. I said I paid 19 for it new, they gave me 16 on trade in (which is really good). Now 6 months later they are still sitting with in, in the show room. I told them to get the dash warp fixed under the recall....it is very obvious. laugh

I do all those and mine's a stick! :p It was harder before when I had no second gear synchro and had to double clutch. It's supposingly easier now since I don't HAVE to double clutch but I still do double clutch. So, it's not impossible to do that with a stick shift.

BTW, I rarely do anything else other than concentrating on driving when I'm driving.

I still wont figure out why I bought this stupid malibu instead of the CSVT. Oh yeah, reliability. But then again, the malibu is not fun to drive, until I turn on the DVD smile

"...malibu is not fun to drive, "

How very true. But, a new Malibu is coming next summer based on the Opel Vectra, or GM Europe's "Mondeo clone".

Maybe Ford will reconsider and bring the Mondeo over since GM is bringing it's rival here, too. wink
