I have a '53 M38-A1 Jeep that I am building up.
I have gone from a one barrel to a Webber two barrel.
After I start the engine it sputters and dies after a few seconds.
If I give it some gas, it hesitates then sputters and dies.
It will not start unless I pump the throttle first.
I have had the mixture screw out and it all the way.
It just seems like it's running out of gas.

I just need a few ideas before I start taking things apart to check things out.

Weber Specialists

The above link is to Pierce Manifolds, they specialize in Weber carbureators. Maybe give them a call.

Maybe you need a bigger fuel pump, just guessing there.

Hope that helps a bit! smile

LOL!
If anyone were to leave fuel out of the tank, it would be me

I checked the float and guess what, It was so out of ajustment that it would not even open.

The carb was taken out of a MG about 10 years ago.
It ran then so, I assumed it would be fine when I rebuilt it. That's what I get for assuming laugh

The engine runs great now, considering all the tuning that still needs to be done.

I like easy fixes laugh
Thanks
