Because many different things can effect the quantity of the production run, like part shortages, labor difficulties, design problems, etc. So I call BS on the 1/514 on top of everything else. I can pretty much guarantee that isn't #1 for a couple of reasons, that and it all depends on how you define which one #1 was. Regardless, there are several blatant lies in that ad. #1 was not a yellow vert. They claim that this car is the SAME one in the dealer brochures and tech cards, when the car that is in them, has a bunch more than 500 miles, and is in no way shape or form, ever going to be for sale to the public.
I have the VIN written down somewhere for the first regular production car off the line, if someone wants to get the vin from tihs guy, I will check it against the VIN.

oh yeah, SVT has NOT announced the build order, and will not until the end of the model year production run (not till hte end of all the 03 SVT vehicles) and they are not necessarily in VIN order.

Maybe it is #1 of 514 convertibles. Is Ford actually advertising that motor as being the highest output ever in a Ford? I can think of several Ford big block motors from the 60's that put out over 400hp. I'll concede that it's probably the most hp per cubic inch motor they ever made. Maybe they're just a different kind of hp. Karl
