I would say the same thing if the father had dubbed her an atheist. At that age, she may not even have a clear picture of what being a christian or being an atheist means.
Anybody, regardless of age can make a decision to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. There are those who don't understand it at even age 80. Age is irrelevant if are able to make your own choices...
