Yawheh is a colloquial hebrew term for father (no i'm not Jewish but my Mom is a presbyterian minister). It was used by Jesus occasionally when speaking of his father. If I said it it would be like me calling your father "Dad."
I think this info didn't come out before to maximize revenue. The guy used the daughter as a proxy, because he doesn't even have to recite the pledge and was probably feeling down and wanted some attention (not unlike some ricers out there, lol
