Ted Williams did everything within his power to get out of the military service, when he found out there wasn't a viable option, he regrettably served. Ted Williams was a great baseball player, almost a perfect hitter, and one of the biggest SOBs to ever play the game....Not on Ty Cobbs level by any means, but far from a "nice" guy....

As a fan, I feel baseball was through with me long ago. Some players feel that the fans don't matter.
