As I said... Kids will never learn until it actually happens to them.. unfortunately for these kids, they lived.. learned.. and died.

"Common sense is in short supply with today's youth."

Yes, nothing like this would have ever happened ten years ago.

No need for ******* generalizations.

I've never seen a curb laid out like this before at any gas station other than those Sunoco stations on the Ohio Turnpike, not to mention that the distance between the pump and the edge of the curb that sticks out is greater than that at any other gas station.

So, if you assume that you can pull as close to the pump as you do at any other gas station, and keep going, you'll hit the curb.

Ever think that the curb stops people from hitting the pump ?? I see high curbs everywhere at gas stations...[/b]

don't be bashin just the teenagers here people. yes, in this case it was teenagers who screwed up...real bad.
i work at a tire store, and i see people comin in all the time on spare tires. it's horrible when i see a worn spare tire, and then talk to the customers.
"yea, i just haven't had time to get into the shop. i've been drivin on the spare for about a week now"
These people are adults, with solid jobs, decent cars, and no brains.
do not drive on your spare except to get to the shop.
that's why it's a
Temporary Use Only tire...

the bigger factor sounds to me like rain and high speed...doesnt' matter what tires u're on when u mix those two factors...not to mention the lack of driving experience due to youth

Let me make sure one other point is clear. This area of US1 is under major construction. This is not a normal road folkks. They are right now widening both sides to 4 lanes. There are massive barricades all over the road. Like Brinn said, even when it was not under constuction, it was horrible. Take that, and multiply it by 10, and there is your new road.
