How about some gurus do a comparision with a GTI? That would be a good. I think I like the styling of VW more myself but you would proabably pay quite a bit more in the end. The guy from Tn: why do you go around shooting off at the mouth like that. No wonder us mustang drivers get a bad rap. I sometimes want to sell mine just because of that. Everyone always wants to race me and revs there car up at me. Screw that I rather eat them alive in a curve with a fourdoor. laugh

I'm sure your Mustang would out handle the Neon ACR :rolleyes:
I am a car enthusiast I like cars, I like the Neon but its trunk and rear is too small. If I wanted a pocket rocket under 20K I would buy a SRT hands down. I think it looks great too.
I would think you Mustang drivers would like all the scoops, with all the non functional ones on your car!
This can?t be happening? A Stang hater on CEG! :rolleyes: As for the handling comment, have you ever been to a SCCA Showroom stock (SS) National / Regional Race? I regularly attend the ones at Road Atlanta and the Stangs will / do walk Neon ACR?s? not even the same class. The Stangs run with the big dawgs, on any Road Course.

Having OWNED both a 98 SVTC and a 02 GT. I will take the 300lbs of torque and rwd over the SVTC any day. But whatever, if you like (or need) the safety factor of plow at the limit then fwd is for you. Ford doesn?t put 245/45/17 tires on the new Stang for drag racing.

As for the POS Neon? For 20k I think it?s a steal! With Mods that thing is going to be a force. I?d take that over a GTI 1.8t any day.

You sould go post that on Stangnet or Corral... LOL!

Stereotypes... okay.
You drive a Contour, What do you think the worlds perception of a contour is?
Perception = Reality
Contour = Rental Car

My Women's sister has a neon. It's under warranty but is in the shop about every month. It leaks oil like crazy, and no dealer or service shop has been able to figure it out. Unless they did some major changes from the regular neons aside from adding hp/tq, I see reliability as a major issue. The best car in the world sucks if it's always in the shop and you never get to drive it.

I'm not a big fan of the "bug eye" styling on either the WRX or Neon (too much accent on goofy looking headlights), but I do respect their performance...

What year Neon does your girlfriends sister have? The transmission going into the SRT is going to be a completley new one from the ones that went into Neons of the past. It is, however, the same company making it. The engine itself is something completely different than what has been in the Neons of the past as well. The engine in the SRT is a V4 2.4L as opposed to the 2L's of previous Neons. On top of that, this car will still be under the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty they have....even with the aftermarket add-on's from Mopar.

That car is sweet. I hear the death knell for the FSVT, unless Ford can up the displacement, turbo & intercool it, and drop the price. :rolleyes:

Why would you buy a FSVT with the SRT-4 out there? WAY more performance for WAY less $$. And before I get flamed, you should know that I hate Chrysler (can't stand working on them, and having to have a seperate set of tools just to do that). I've always driven Ford, but they are clearly behind the power curve here. I think the FSVT will shortly go the way of the CSVT... ...and the Do-Do. frown
