I agree w/u 100% and that does happen all of the time. However, I see it done too often when a cop just want's to excercise his muscle and cut that light. Cops break the law for the same reason a dog licks his balls--because he can.

I read an interesting article in the news clips at work a while back (unfortunately I don't remember the source). But the gist was that, in work zones, people in vehicles were something like 100 times more likely to be killed than highway workers. So the "work zone" speed limits were not really to protect the workers (who are usually behind Jersey walls in any event) but to protect us'ins, who tend to whomp into each other if we have to do something complicated like a lane shift, or to drive between two Jersey walls. So that would explain the 24/7 enforcement of work zone speed limits--it's to protect you.

you cant ple bargain in suffolk???? Nassau county is so in debt they will offer almost any one a reduction so they can get cash up front. my friend got nailed 84 in a 40 on 106/107 went to court pled not guilty. gott of w/ a broken speedo $70 fine...

cops in nassua make 100,000 a yr that is one of the reasons the county is in debt. And the new county exec is cutting all there OT and firing some since there not needed and there wasting tax $$$$$$$$$

Here's a link that corroborates that statement web page As a Nassau county resident I am also shocked that cops are making that much. Then again its so damn expensive here that the $100K probably doesn't go too far.
