Let's see, how much did you pay for that Vette? And the Cobra? I'm willing to be that if we go even on the $$, the Cobra will still win.[/b]
That cobra is a convertable is going to run you $45,000 at the dealer near me...

Coupe $42k
Z06 $51k
I've seen Z06s around here for upper $40s.

Oh, and don't forget about insurance on a Cobra. eek [/b]
And the insurance on the 'Vette or Z06? Let's keep comparing apples to apples here, people...

That's entirely subjective. I'd take the Cobra for "looks" over the Vette any day...

So buy somewhere else. They can be had for much less, and paying that price is just stupid. Again, apples to apples. Stop trying so hard to give the advantage to the 'Vette. Ford finally has one hell of a car- one they can rightly compare to the 'Vette.

Don't credit me, I'm on dial-up. AT&T Worldnet, baby. $14.95/month, 150 hrs a month, 6 emails, 60 Mb web space. Pretty good deal, except they don't offer high speed access in my area. frown

Must be your connection or something, don't know what to tell you. Did you try the second link (a few posts down). That's the one that works now.

He is lucky it wasnt a Z06 vette, that would have been a totaly different story. And actually the stock C5 corvette is twice the autocrosser that the new cobra is.

As far as build quality and overall sportiness, the base model corvette is a hell of a lot better than the cobra. Sandman, how dare you say the Cobra looks better?

And just who the f#(% are you? I'll think whatever I want of the Corvette, and I think its fugly. I also understand that a lot of 'vette owners are not happy with all the plastic in the interior. For a car that costs that much, this shouldn't be an issue. Given the choice of most any car, I'd take a BMW M5 any day (if I had the $$). Sorry, but I've never been of the opinion that the Corvette is all its cracked up to be. I'll take a $35,000 Cobra and toast your $45,000 'Vette, and still carry 2 more passengers with room for luggage. Bang-for-the-buck? That's been the Mustang's specialty for years. The 'Vette is simply a status symbol, no thanks. The Cobra looks a lot meaner, thus my appreciation for it.
