http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/07/05/iraq.usa.reut/index.html Report: U.S. plan calls for massive attack on Iraq
Who the **** could be this stupid!? Everyone that had a hand in the printing of that article should be hauled off to jail for treason. Common sense should dictate that you shouldn't be letting this kind of **** slip out for the sake of making a name for yourself. our enemy?s foreign intelligence could consist of turning on CNN....

I always noticed they do that crap too! The press is constantly giving the bad guys ideas on how to destroy the world as WE know it, to the people and organizations who would normally have been too stupid to figure out how

Who do you think gives this stuff to the press? Someone with knowledge leaks it knowing full well that it will be published. Some (if not all) of the leaks are carefully orchestrated. If the current administration didn't want word of this to get out, then they would stop the leaks.
Don't blame the press, they are just the messengers.

Didn't Rumsfeld recently suggest that there is nothing wrong with planting false stories in the press, as long as the end result was to confuse or deceive the enemy?
I don't think you give the Administration enough credit. If Bush and his cohorts didn't want you to read about this, you wouldn't be reading about it.
What do you think would happen to the official who leaked this story if it was in fact not authorized? Don't you think that we would be reading about a Congressional investigation? Don't you think Bush would be publicly calling from someone's head? Don't you think that someone, even if was just a sacrificial scapegoat, would be getting canned or at least severly reprimanded? Has Bush or anyone in his Administration even criticized the publication of thsi story?

In WWII you had to break codes to get intelligence. Now, all you have to do is turn on the TV. It probably was some congressman on the intelligence committee who got bonus points with a reporter for leaking this. What bothers me even more is that when Bush doesn't update Congress on stuff, there is outrage.

You act like they don't have DIFFERENT battle plans. If I was president I would give every news agency a hint we were going to attack a certain way. I would hope the enemy would watch, then I would change the game up on them. Classic deception with today's technology.

-Antonio Yep...that's the way I see it, too. Tell them one thing, then do another. After they've learned public info isn't reliable, change things up and start leaking more accurate info so they'll disregard it and ya might catch 'em sleeping.

Like no one really thought before this that we had attack plans for Iraq. (Or perhaps another few dozen places on the planet?) It is a non-story. We have all sorts of plans, to do all sorts of things. The story is very short on details, and it seems to me, an attempt to make something out of a slow news day. And of course the president doesn't have a plan on his desk. He looks at those "elsewhere" TB
