O.K., lets suppose that the National Guard, in the process of protecting your community, accidentally massacred every member of your family and your extended family - and then apoligized. Would this make you feel (a)happy; (b) indifferent; (c) mildly annoyed or (d) extremely pissed off.
I would certainly forgive anyone who chose (d) and I certainly wouldn't expect any Afghani to be very happy in the same kind of situation. Mistakes are much easier to forgive when they happen to someone else's family.
