One word. NAAAAAAWS! laugh [/b]
Uh, not going to happen.

Don't remember, I think it is H speed rated, which should be 130 mph.

But... I can :p

This could get U-G-L-Y for Ford, especially given the publicity it has received lately.

Yep, and there is an issue with the current CV PI in that during rear collisions the fuel tank strikes a bolt on the axle that is unique to the PI, causing fuel to leak. 3 Arizona troopers have already died in fires resulting from this. Ford clearly needs to redesign the fuel tank anyway, so why not increase the capacity at the same time? Move it up and away from the rear axle, and use a little trunk space to do it.

again, its a sensitive issue right now, and I'm not a fuel tank engineer, so I won't touch it.

It's all about balance.

I don't think people would have to worry if the CV ran off of diesel, it wouldn't explode like gas and it would get better mileage (the whole small gas tank issue)

I think Ford would be more interested in customers concerns for the CV/PI if there was some real competition

I think they should bring the 302 back.

'course I know it'll never happen smile

Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can get a laptop computer mount for my '88 Mustang GT? I figure that they must be available for that car given that it's been used as a police car (and probably still is, somewhere).

If they could give us a turbocharged diesel w/ 300 hp and an 8 speed auto tranny, sure. Probably be too heavy, though.

Sandman, you think this mod might work for ya? V-10 Vic

Basically, they toss the wimpy v-8 and get the v-10 in there, they convert it to propane too but you could probaly skip that part laugh .

BTW, the Caprice cop car is nice. The 9C1 uses V-rated tires and comes with the LT1 engine, ummm LT1. Oh, and when someone talks Impala the only years it was made in recent memory are 94-96. What you see on the road now is just Chevy seeing how far they can go before they get a savage beating for trashing a great car.

I think you guys should buy used 9C1's for three grand and use the leftover money to fix them up. Drop in a super charger and you get 400+ horseies or so.
