I gotta say that I've never smoked anything but a cigarette on my 18th birthday and not one since. I hope everything goes good from here because it sure is nice when you're clean. You can do it, just stick in there.
Good Bluck...

I have an uncle who's a cocaine addict. He threw his life away. Wife left and took the kids. I doubt I'll ever see my cousins again.

I tried Mary-Jane twice. Within a couple weeks of each other. I was 26 and had never tried anything other than alcohol and cigarettes until then. Didn't like it at all. I got all panicky (sp?) and defensive. It lasted waaaaay too long for my taste. I didn't even get the munchies. Kind of stupid for me to even try it. My real father has pretty much smoked himself into a failed life. I guess curiousity got the best of me. Glad you're straightening your life up. Good luck

Yes,
Even a dufus like me has tripped on 'shrooms in college. I don't remember much now but I hated the experience of sitting in my dorm room and seeing the walls "breathe" and inanimate objects like my chair come "alive" and "walk".
Aside from being seriously injured, bad trips are the worst thing someone can go through. Congrats on realizing the folly of poisoning your brain (which is what technically happens when you ingest 'shrooms).
Now you have a clear purpose, littlefishie. Surround yourself with people who support you and pursue your goals. All the rest will fall in line.

Sway,
I also congratulate you on changing your lifestyle. The border between recreational drug use and addiction is not very clear. Have you seen Requiem for a Dream? If not, it is the most convincing film to ever portray the perils of drug use.

Thank you everyone for reading, and for your kind words. Seems everyone knows from personal expiernce what drugs really do. It's gonna be hard, but I'll make it stone sober. =) -A

I must say that an old friend of mine had a similar experience like that. He was trippin on a crap load of shrooms. But during that night, he was on his bed (where he saw a roach playing a ukulele ), the ceiling began to open up. Hands came through, and it was God. delivering a message, that he needs to change his ways. Everything was shaking and stuff. God told him that his family needs him more than he needs the drugs. God also struck him a couple of times, and my friend said he felt as if he was being shocked with giant volts of electric.
Now he has a steady job, a wife and a kid. Whenever he needs to relieve stress, he hits the beach. I do the same whenever i got stress. I just surf the waves. It's a rush that cannot be matched. Not even by the speed of a car. I've seen many people go from racers to surfers. Non on the other way around.
Give me more beer and CEG before i get depressed!

I never intend to do drugs or even smoke (asthma+cigs=bad). Alcohol maybe? but never drugs. Sometimes it's best to quit before you start. It's good to hear that most everyone who has replied so far is calling quits to their times with drugs. And Littlefishie, good luck quitting. If you find yourself craving, talk online more - and if it's bad, then find a live support group to hang with. Congrats at least to hear you realize!
