Wait till the same thing happens at Xerox next week. At my last job, our #1 client (which accounted for 90% of our revenue stream) was Adelphia Communications, the 5th largest cable company. Now, if you've followed the news, they're in Chapter 11, with crooked books, $3 billion unaccounted for, and the stock delisted last week.
That blow decimated our company, and eventually we went under. Ironically, I now work at the #3 cable company in the country (Comcast), and we'll be the #1 cable provider by October, if all goes as plans.
But since that means nothing these days, it doesn't give me feeling of security. I'd much rather leave the corporate BS behind and go back to working at a startup company.
Think you can get rid of my ul/dl caps then?
Being laid off sucks

Hope all is ok Packrat. Good luck!
My feeling of job security is my job is so damn unique, no one else knows how to do it... I was suppose to go on a trip (bus) but my boss wouldn't let me since no one else can do my job... vacation is a PITA
My wife was really worried about hers, but she was just offered a nice new position in the company (hand picked), and they wanted someone "who was going to stick around". The sucky part is the really long drive she has to make to the new center, but that's alright, at least she has her job
