I didn't check to see if Sylvania makes the HID for the Contour, but they have the 6024 lights for my '69 Chevy! $125 was the quote from Kragen.

I work for a wholesale lightting distributor in Minneapolis and can possibly swing us a deal. We sell Osram/Sylvania products and I'm sure we can get the kits. Let me know if you're interested.

Me again...you are talking about the Xenarc HID lamps, right? Anyone know which bulbs will fit the Countours/Mystiques? Here's the link to the HID section of Sylvania's website. http://www.sylvania.com/xenarc/prodinfo.htm

I don't think that Sylvania is making an OEM kit for the Contour, or ever will for that matter (kind of like getting clear/altezza tails). Now they DO make an HID Auxilliary low beam kit that might fit the bill.

I don't think Sylvania is going to make a universal retrofit kit since they are illegal.

If you want HID retrofits, go with www.autolamps-online.com They make one of the better retrofit kits.

How do the Mark VIII HID systems compare to the newer ones that are out now? Thanks

The Mark VIII HID systems were part of the first generation HID sets.. which have been banned in the US. They produce a very, very, very bright blue green color. The kit will work on a the contour, but you are going to have to do a few modifications. Look around a few BMW sites. That is where I got mine for $300.

Antonio,

That's interesting that they were banned. I have the same set-up as you. I got the HID system out of a totaled Mark VIII. The HID kit and installed for $175.
