a simple solution would be to change the word "God" to "god". by changing it from a proper name, the person saying the pledge can associate whatever they want with the word "god". whatever belief system they have takes on the alias of "god".
people need to realize that the pledge is about our belief in our COUNTRY, not God!
the more complicated solution would be to kick California out of the Union of states and let them fend for themselved with their own "beliefs." i wonder how long tey would last.
