Read that story a bunch before, stills gives me chills. I got picked on a lot when I was in elem, and some in H.S for being a bit of a "fat kid" and just plain different. (i wore a cowboy hat an boots to school everyday in a mostly preppie small school) If I can make a difference half as good as what's in that story, I'll be plenty happy.

It makes you wonder if it is really worth it to pick on people that post on forums. What kind of effect does "forum harassment" do to someone? Sure, it's fun to joke around, but when does it start to be overboard? Is it just easier to poke fun?

Neat story, by the way.

Real-life harassment is a real bit(h, especially in high school. However, if someone wants to kill themselves over what they read in a forum, well, they have some serious problems.

Good story. I used to get picked on from when i first moved to NY (6th grade) until i got out of junior high, all because i was the new kid who could not speak English. Believe it or not, i was teased by a couple of Teachers as well, including my English Teacher. Of course once i learned the language enough to know what they were saying, i was at least able to answer, though it got me into some fueds and fights that should have never been. Kids can be the meanest people, they just don't realize how seriously they can hurt some ones feelings. Once i got into High School, things smoothed out a bit and i learned to speak English much better. Yeah, if my English Teacher could only see me know, i'd show her how much English i learned by telling her to go... laugh

This story reminds me of an adult friend I had that told me that his hardest moment from high school was guilt. He was getting his books from his locker and he was a pretty nice guy but he had had a rough day. When he closed his locker he looked over a saw a kid that everyone picked on, the kid smiled at him and said "Hey" and he just kinda snuffed the kid away. He went home and later found out that the kid hung himself that night. He said that the hardest thing he has had to live with is the thought that he was the one who pushed him to the edge.

If you've ever been on that side of the fence...you'd know. Words can often be more powerful than actions. Highschool has to be the most damaging part of a young person's life...if you're not "cool." Soemtimes it only takes one little thing to push someone over the edge, especially if they're on the virge of the unthinkable. I admit to ripping into people, I also admit to being the target of all kinds of abuse...and I didn't have it as bad as some. Words are powerful, so id depression....it's easy to say the person who kills themselves has problems. To that person it may seem to be the only way out. And it's usually the "normal" or "stable" kids who end up as statistics.

Best cure for school shootings. Of course people always find a reason to pick on someone else..And what's worse is when they feel justified in doing so.

**CHILLS** That is an awesome story. It makes ya think about everyone you've ever been mean to. I guess from now on before I attempt to say anything mean I should remind myself that that person could be on the edge and my words could be the hands that push him/her off.

Sure, that's a nice fru-fru story...

After being picked on in school for being nerdy and tall/skinny, I can tell you this... For someone who got physically picked on all of the time, day in, day out, there's no greater revenge than to go back to high school reunions after blosoming late in your teens to beat the **** out of people who had it coming for a long time. At the time, I thought they deserved it... Still kinda do I guess. Have I ever mentioned I have anger management issues towards people getting picked on? :p To this day if someone I know picks on somebody, for just about any reason, they get "the lecture".

Very true chris

It's a strong story that should be taken serious True or false, It happens everyday.
Sooner or later everyone has there share of harrassment or abuse in some sort of way, you just have to look at it like maybe he or she has bigger problems then yourself?

Have you ever heard of somebody putting someone else down just to make himself look better, but deep down he or she is the one that is truly hurting?
