Oh jesus! The only thing I can think of is some of the fiction I have read that leads me to believe the fiction might become truth (if that makes any sense)

I am involved in early child hood development programs, and I support school sponsored ultimate fighting matches. We lower a cage around the participants and they fight till one of them can move no longer. They are very active and get tired, so we have no problems in the class room. All the kids do is sit and learn until the next ultimate fight. wink wink wink laugh :p

Sorry to offend you. Just remember, i'm totally isolated on a rock in the middle of the pacific ocean. I only see what i can on TV. Like how people stereo type the part where people here live in grass huts.

Exaclty! When did it become a major accomplishment to get into high school?

I work with a girl who just graduated high school. Her sister just graduated 8th grade and her brother just graduated 4th grade. She told me the 8th grade graduation was longer than her high school graduation and the 4th grade graduation was longer than the 8th grade graduation.

The principal said children playing tag suffered both physical and emotional injuries.
If he thinks tag causes emotional and physical injuries now, just wait until they grow up and get into the real world. Stuff like that is HARMLESS FUN! If someone can't handle tag, they have some other serious issues. (NOTE: I didn't read the article yet, just saw the quote from Packrat and had to say something....ok now on the reading it laugh )

I think its schools covering their own butts. I hate it. They wouldn't let us play tackle football in P.E. freshman year cause they were afraid someone would get hurt. No one wants to play flag/two hand touch football...whats the fun? They don't want kids falling and getting hurt and them biting the bullet. I think they need to let kids be kids. The parents need to be less protective and realize that KIDS WILL GET HURT. Its all part of the learning process. Stupid...I hope it doesn't last.

It's the same BS in kid's sports! Everyone gets a trophy! We don't keep score! Protect the children from any disapointment that might teach them a valuably lession that might help them to cope with life as you grow older. My god what are we doing? What are we teaching them? I played a lot of sports in school. If I didn't succeed one year I worked harder the next to achive the goal. And who set those goals? The people who raised the bar the year before. I think a little competion and rough housing is an important part of a child's development. Life is full of big and little rough spots and if you don't learn to deal with them when you young your going to become an ill prepared adult And PLEASE don't even get me started on some of the parents involved in some of these sports activities! MY BOBBY'S GOT GRASS STAINS ON HIS TOMMY JEANS! SOMEONE CALL 911!
OK I'm all better now!
