Hey Ray: Try to find out this one, I cant remember if it can be done:
Can a 747 jetliner be barrel-rolled or looped sucessfully?
Saw the freaky video of that Forest Service C130 with the wings ripping off..... got me wondering.
ZZZ.
Okay...
As far as structural limits are concerned: yes, it is possible.. BUT, with the following (some impossible) exceptions:
The area of the circle required to do an inverted loop, without stressing the plane's body, would be roughly calculated to a size likened to nearly 9.5 miles in diameter. (not nearly enough possibility there.
So.. theorhetically, yes... it IS possible.. but, not feasible.. (not to mention that people don't like to be upside down like that, in first class...)
Question for you guys: Can a HELICOPTER (bell, or otherwise) do a loop?
(still more to come, here shortly..)
Ray
EDIT: WOW.. THREE PAGES, on TWO posts of mine, within a week.. WOW!!! I feel special!!!
