true ... the reflective surface in a mirror is in the back, covered in glass. We did an experiment in Physics on reflection, and had to line up the mirror according to its backside.

CDs work in a similar fashion, which is why lightly scratching the bottom is ok, but writing on ball-point pen (on a blank CD-R) on the top is bad. This happened to me; I ruined the disc frown because that surface is actually the material that contains the laser divots (or whatever they are).

Can a 747 jetliner be barrel-rolled or looped sucessfully?

Saw the freaky video of that Forest Service C130 with the wings ripping off..... got me wondering.
