Whoever said that is still single. Compromise is one of the keys to a relationship. Letting someone walk all over you is not compromise! Compromise is a mutual agreement.

i have been single for about 6 years and as the name states...long dry spell....
i don't care how many chicks say they want the nice guy...they really don't. i am that nice guy, and where does it get me? no where!!

so - to add some reality...
make sure your commonalities are not blinded by your emotions... meaning, don't just agree with her on things because you don't want her to go away and vice versa...
the little things are what tear people apart slowly, make sure you deal with them early on - just be honest with each other... that is a key in making any relationship work.
honesty builds trust, and trust is the basis for nearly any relationship...

Definatly agree here! Honesty is key! When I was talking about letting the little things go earlier, I was meaning it in a different context.
Sometimes when you have been in a long relationship, you let little things get on your nerves. And you may end up argueing over silly minute things. I have seen this end many relationships, if your both serious you can learn to let these things go. And focus on the more important things.
Talk about everything! Never don't let things go unsaid.
