Science doesn't need to show proof of how the univers started, only show proof contrary to how the bible (or any religious book) says that it did.
There lies the problem: What I believe is evidence of God may not be accepted by you. For example: the complexity of the human body, the harmony of the earth's ecosystem, the complexity of the universe, miracles performed by Jesus Christ - these points, I believe, are evidence of God. However, a non-believer would say that these points are not evidence of God, but, they were caused by the Big Bang, pure chance, Evolution, or whatever.
How can science prove how something DIDN'T happen if it can't prove how it did happen?
And please, let's not get into a debate on Evolution/Big Bang. This has already been done, and it lasted 15+ pages with no resolution.
