Do you know Howard beach you should, now do you know Blockbuster video? across the street new park pizza? Do you also remember when gotti had it blown up because they wouldn't pay to operate in howard beach (i had a that tried to open a bar in howard beach until he was approached by the mob telling him if he wanted to operate in howard beach he would have to pay Mr. gotti)

He was not respected my friend he was feared for what he could have a accomplished with the point of a finger, if you looked at him wrong or evebn said something wrong you dissappear. Now granted he did kill alot of other mobsters but the fact of the matter is he also hurt alot of people and there is no respect for a man that lives off of other peoples money and i'll bet any amount of money that he NEVER WORKED A DAY IN HIS LIFE.

You can have your opinion but when you throw it out for everyone to see you better expect to hear everyone else's.
I live in Rockaway beach, i know the area, so you can ask me anything you want, i ain't bullchittn wink

And why not use his blood and drug money for the community, at least he gave back rather than people that make that kind of money and only use it for themselves. Gotti used to throw some of the best parties in the neighborhood, and it was always a good time for the kids. Everyone has a right to their opinion, mine is that I respect the man.
Kinda like Kevin Spacey in SEVEN? I guess he was the good guy in that movie, huh, Vinny?

Gotti was a *****...now he's a dead *****.

Ok Donkey,
Some guy accidentally ran over John Gotti's kid when he was playing in the street. A couple months later that guy winds up dead inside his car. Yeah he was taking care of the bad guy there right? Accidents happen. John Gotti was a common thug in a suit...

Oh, by the way, take a drive down 101 ave or crossbay blvd tommorow and watch how many stores will be closed. Let me guess, that will be because they feared him; No, that will be out of respect. Granted there are many people who feared him, hated him, and are glad he's gone, but on the other hand, many respected him.

When everything was going on with him going on trial why did so many people get taken out? because he was afraid they would rat on him right?
Next thing ya know his own hitman rats him out laugh
X-bay blvd is where i pass everyday and night. i'm sure when they saw him they would say HI Mr. gotti how are you because if they didn't he would find that disrespectful.
Do you know how many kids/adults walk around or drive around howard beach and act like they are so hard because of who used to live there? There a bunch of Mommas boys driving around daddys lexus or mommys BMW you have to be kidding me. Yeah howard beach is nice but respect for someone who killed or had people killed and never worked a day in there lives. NO RESPECT for that man.

BTW do you have relatives that still live in howard beach or the area?
If so ask them to drive around and see who is closed, I'll do the same

"Loddi Doddi, Free John Gotti, the King of New York...", that was a good song.

Seriously, Americans have a fascination with mobsters. This is proven by the popularity of the subject in entertainment. The mob movie is to the NYC area what the Western is to its subject area. Full of crap and romance. But entertaining none the less. I feel that explains a lot about the "respect" he recieved.

I do remember lots of wailing in the streets on his troubles, and reports of the "good" he did for charity (this reported by the mainstream press, no less.) Seems he WAS loved by some in the community.

None the less, Gotti was a hood and a thug. Not one I would want my kids to see a a hero of any sort.

Good riddence to bad rubish.

You gotta respect all regulators, but you don't have to worship and love them.
