Hi. I can't sleep for more than four hours at a time. This has been going on for most of last week and into today. I get off work and I'm exhausted and I sleep for up to four hours and then can't sleep again. I'll get up for a few hours until about four or five hours until it's time for me to go back to work, and then I fall asleep two hours before I have to be up again. Nerves? I know I'm annoyed because I was gonna go be a counselor at my church's kid's camp and now I have to work to pay off tickets and fines and junk before I ship. I should start a "Send Josh to the Marines" fund to take care of all this crap. Also, my lawyer is taking her SWEET ASS TIME resolving my "driving on a suspended license" charge and she might not have it done by the 24th. If that happens, my ship date will be pushed to October. I won't be happy. I guess I'd make it to the Nat'l Meet, though! I'm also upset because I haven't told everyone I'm leaving and I think my roommate has been telling our mutual friends from church all this junk about me that's really not their business or his place to say anything. So I can't sleep. Maybe it's a combination of little stuff. I'm not nervous about going at all. I'm ready! I'm nervous that I might not get to leave when I want to. But it must be subconscious because I'm not thinking about this crap when I fall asleep or when I wake up. It's always too late to take sleeping pills because I have to be up and to work within four hours or so. There's really not a point to this. I just had no one to rant to. Carry on.

I'm having trouble sleeping. I'm also down in the dumps all the time. I think it's time for some "happy pills" so I've scheduled a doctors appointment.
Maybe it's a CEG troll sickness.

take some melatonin, should help you straighten out your sleeping problems. You can also use a certain "medicinal" herb, puts me out when i need to be that's for sure! EDIT: Nix that idea, forgot about you joining the marines....melatonin, or, start making a routine to follow before you go to bed. IE: Every night before you turn in you read for a half hour. After a while, it'll tell your body, ok time to get ready for sleep...and when you turn in you'll probably sleep better and longer.

poor darlin i've found that if you take a "nap" for too long (you said you sleep for like 3/4 hours?) you don't get to sleep at a normal time at night. it's best to take really small, short rests if you muuust sleep during the day. sounds like you dont have a really true sleep pattern, or a really messed up one... i actually have a little "sound machine" beside my bed that plays ocean sounds to get me to sleep when i cant laugh all ya want it works! hah i really don't know much about any medication you could take to get yourself to sleep... but sweet dreams Josh

start lifting weight 3 hours before you go to bed and finish it up with a vigorous run 1 - 2 miles and you will be ready to go, or turn it on the Lifetime network on cable and you won't last 30 seconds....

I had trouble sleepign like that. I just got some melatonin. Take it every so often, and now i'm back to normal. It's found in turkey. That's why if you eat a lot of turkey you feel sleepy.
Give me more beer and CEG before i get depressed!

I work nights, so I'm forced to sleep during the day. Yesterday was supposed to be my last night at work and I was psyched! Now I have to keep this vampire schedule for another fortnight. I'm afraid melatonin or any other routine will get me accustomed to sleeping during the day, which I really don't want. My sleeping bouts during the day isn't napping... it's my only rest time. But I don't want to get used to it. My nights off, I stay up the whole day and sleep when it's dark. I guess I'm not really on a good sleep schedule and I like it that way. But I've never had this trouble before. I bet it is just nervousness. Just in case, where can I find melatonin? Besides in a slab of turkey...

You should be able to find it in any health food store, or like GNC, the vitamin shoppe...I order stuff from bodybuilding.com. Don't worry about getting used to sleeping during the day...you'll fall back into a normal schedule once you're done with your job. Obviously it hasn't gotten to you yet..but sleep deprivation is NOT fun. When you're suffering from it, you won't be worried about sleeping during the day. Other things to help? Black curtains/blinds. The night schedule is hard to follow, but by staying up all day on your days off you're just messing everythign up again.

I've been working nights for as long as I've held a job. I usually sleep around three hours a day (it will be 0 today) I always hated sleep. I find it to be a horrible waste of time I could spend outside, or even just doing something like drawing. People always tell me 3 hours isn't enough but I am barely ever sick, I don't ever have headaches, and I never feel tired (unless I get 0 hours in a day, then I'm just plain dopey) If I sleep in, I always feel drowsy (I'm talking 8 hours here) If you are having troubles sleeping, here is something my ex did (she was a horrible sleeper). Just turn on a drony old fan and let it run, you will drop in no time
