Sounds good Cole. Congrats.

Driving 900 miles each way to kick some yankee butt was well worth it. I was pretty sure I could whoop the stock boys but had no idea I could cream the modifiers who have spent twice what their car originally cost!!! Sorry, Todras, a noteable and talented exception. Everyone else was owned. See my sig.

Was it worth it to spend every night kneeling before the porcelain god, JVT. What the heck is this jugs thing? You're too scrawny to have any no matter how much marijuana you smoke and I only like jugs on women!!!
That's some funny stuff!

I'm officially on the list for a G35 Coupe!! They'll start shipping in November but by the time my name comes up on the list (I waited 7 or 8 weeks to get in there and put my name on) and the car gets ordered/produced, it will probably be Feb or March before I get it. I can't wait!

I drove the sedan a couple weekends ago, along with an IS300 and a CL Type-S. A 330i with any options would be out of my price range, and I'd consider a new A4 3.0 but haven't driven one yet.

The IS300 was nice, but too damn quiet for me. Couldn't hear the engine, road noise or anything. Granted, no one wants too much noise intruding into the cabin, but I couldn't even tell how fast the engine was spinning or how fast I was driving. (That would be a bad thing for me.) The handling was really good, but not as great as I had expected. Didn't like the dash.

The CL Type-S has nice power delivery and a great interior, but I'm done with FWD cars, so scrap that one.

The Infiniti salesman picked a G35 for my drive that didn't have the Sport package/suspension. But I was more than half-way through my test drive before I realized it; the suspension on the standard ("Luxury") model was that good I guess. I was about to type my whole review, but this isn't a thread about the G35 per se, so I'll refrain. But the fact that I signed up right then for a Coupe should indicate my satisfaction.

Cole, congrats on the addition to your family. smile

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but the G35's coupe version is the 350Z.

On the waiting list? My parents purchased one and have been driving it for 2 1/2 weeks now? I wasn't aware there was a waiting list...

Your parents have a sedan. I'm on the list for a G35 Coupe, which is not available until November. The 350Z is not the coupe version of a G35, although it is very similar to the G35 Coupe.

The G35 Coupe has back seats and a trunk rather than a hatch, plus I prefer the slightly snazzier styling, not to mention more amenities and the renowned Infiniti dealership/service experience.

due to the fact that we're getting the g/f a new car real soon and what was said on this thread, I went and took a base model 3.5 SE with the 5 speed for a test drive tonight. I had it in my head that I was in for neck snapping torque... not the case. the car is pretty quick but definitely not "a 4 door mustang gt" as someone said on here. it did feel light on it's toes and the steering/handling wasn't too bad at all, overall a pretty nimble sedan. i got on it pretty good, ran it from 0-60 at a few stoplights and jumped on the freeway twice. the acceleration was satisfactory but nothing far from the reach of an SVT.

with some mods, i think the car could be something that the enthusiast would enjoy driving daily but for the most part it's a quick sedan catered to the masses. nowhere near the driving experience that the CSVT provides and sure as hell not something to get up and brag about like you just banged 3 playboy models in a hot tub.
