did they give you a reason why they're classifying it as "firing" you?
or are they really going to classify it as a lay-off?
sometimes quitting looks bad when you go to find something else, so if this is classified as a layoff due to economy or whatnot, then I think that looks much better than you being a quitter, even if this is just a "temp" job to help pay school bills.
