Until OSX came out, multitasking was nearly NIL. There was some cooperative multitasking when the application was written for it but not often. Remember back in the days of multitasking for windows 3.1 ? Ya that was great huh.
Anyway the only thing I think is great about a mac is that its simple to use. Now that OSX has come out, its gotten a tad more complicated. If I had to get my mother a computer, I could give her a MAC but now its the same for its learning curve so I may as well give her a PC running Win2K or XP. One that will be faster and cheaper.
Again, I think macs are fine for learning with because it was easy but they were far from stable. Random bombs..etc and just try and kill a task. 99% of the time it will hang the finder anyway. Great.
Anyway maybe I've just had bad luck with them but two of my friends converted to PC about a year and a half ago and are happy. They do agree that the MAC OS interface looks nice but XP is getting there...
