I want 4-doors too! I want a modern, preferably FWD, car with using modern technology in its powertrain and features. I want a car about 183-185" in overall length, with great styling with a shot of attitude, able to accelerate competitvely with other sports sedans, best-in-class handling, and loaded with comfort/convenience/luxury features priced to make excellent value ($25K-$28K)
Basically, the SVT Contour is the nearest thing to a perfect car made yet, with value being an important part of the equation. I want a car to just take this car to the next level, giving more room, more performance, and a few more features for a little more money. That's what I want, nothing more, nothing less.
You can pillage an enemy once, but a customer is an endless resource.

In the past year or so there was a comparo in Motor Trend or Car and Driver between the HSV Holden and the M5. It faired very well. It only lost in 0 to 60 and quarter mile because of gearing. I would suggest going to holdens and the HSV web site to get a better idea of what there cars really are. I have been hoping GM would get smart and bring them hear for a few years now. Holden HSV

Ok, comments from me again... the 740 iL isn't that big. I have one out in the driveway next to my Eldorado. And my Oldsmobile Cutlass. Eldo's the longest, Cutlass is the tallest, and the BMW is the heaviest. Granted, none of these are runts, but there's bigger stuff on the roadways. Someone mentioned torque steer on a 350 horse/torque FWD car. I'll give you a hint people, torque steer is still there on the caddy's. As you see, I own one with the northstar in it. If I stomp on the pedal, I have to keep a firm grip on the steering wheel because those wheels will twist and turn if given the chance. My front dances a bit when I stomp on it, so torque steer is not totally eliminated. It's kept at a controllable level is all. Also, an Impala SS (the bubbles) are a lot bigger than a 7 series. Trust me, parked next to them with the Eldo, and my mother's BMW. Of course I'd still like to wait to see if the Commodore truly makes it here looking anything like what it does now.
Words of wisdom... -I'm too old for this sh*t. -Dirty jews have well laundered money.

"Holden's GTS coupe may be first of several of GM Australian vehicles on way to U.S.
Holden's GTS coupe may not be the only Aussie runner that General Motors vice chairman Bob Lutz is eyeing for U.S. import. Word is that in addition to the 402-hp coupe, GM's product guru also likes the Maloo sport/ute (think Chevy El Camino) for these shores. Lutz reportedly wants GM to bring up to 20,000 Holden Monaro coupes per year to the United States, if the car can be economically adapted to meet federal crash regulations. Another obstacle: We're told a U.S. version would require reworking all the plastics for cold weather durability—not typically a problem Down Under where plastics must stand up to heat, but not cold. Redoing the plastics for U.S. vehicles could take up to two years, sources say. "
AL I read this too and about fell in the floor laughing when they said 2 years to reformulate the plastic bits. Two years?! They must be subbing the engineering to a gov't agency! What a total load of typical GM crap to cover their a$$! I'd be surprised to see a recognizable Holden here in the States; some bean counter or displaced Aztec designer will ruin it.

I never believe anything from MT, they are always way out there with "futurisitc" drawings and stories. They were saying there will be a new Camaro for 2005, but GM has not confirmed anything.
Why would GM bother with another Catera? Until I see it in the showroom, I won't believe it!

Commodore is just like a Catera but wider. Instead of the Opel EchoTech 3.0 DOHC V6, Commodore has Buick 3.8 OHV V6 or the 5.7 Chevy V8. Only the top HSV version get LS1.
