I dunno....when I see the bullcrap that my friends put up with, I'm glad I'm single.

How grown, intelligent, otherwise normal men allow themselves to be whipped is beyond me. So much for 50/50 relationships.

Well it's all about finding a person that's truely compatible with you, and accepts you for who you are. Meaning that you shouldn't have to be or feel whipped, only content. If it comes to the point where you're "whipped" then they're not the right person for you. Sure there are sacrifces to any relationship, but they shouldn't have to be so great that you're not happy 100% of the time. Ask anyone on here who's happily married, and they'll back me up on that one.

That's what I thought too but volunteering only takes a few hours per week, or at least it did for me! wink

I agree with all that you're saying and maybe someday I will meet that person. Somehow I doubt it but hope springs eternal. smile

I just don't understand why the majority of my friends allow their wives/girlfriends to make all the major decisons for them. Friends who didn't want kids are now fathers, friends who didn't want to get married now are, friends who don't want to live in the Northeast are due to their wife/girlfriend wanting to.

I could never cajole/force a girlfriend into anything major unless they wanted it too but it seems that the opinions/feelings of my buddies were ignored/not asked for by their partners. Obviously, I am only getting one side of the story here so I may be wrong.

lol @ PA!

Anyway, I met my wife over 10 yrs ago. I tell you, I don't know where I'd be without her. Too many people these days are into instant gratification, even in their relationships. If they are not happy this instant, they move on. That's sad, and a part of why the divorce rate is so high. My wife and I have had our rocky times, but through it all we never stopped loving each other.

Someday you will meet that special someone. Pray that you take the time to realize that you found her, and work the rest of your life on keeping her.

Eh, who needs a girlfriend, while I am quite a bit younger than you (21) I have grown to accept the single life. It has it's drawbacks (and we all know what they are) but I've been single since HS, through 3 years of college (and for those that might flame me, I am not a player) but I suppose I am just waiting for everyone to catch up to my maturity laugh

Sway, don't go saying that you are single too loud, the leghumping army might hear you wink
