Over here Verizon is the best to get coveragewise. Cingular sucked (I couldn't even get voicemail because my "mailbox was corrupted"?!) plus the coverage was bad. Verizon is the only provider with which I can place a call from my neighborhood, since there are no nearby cell towers until 2004. They're a bit more expensive here, but IMO you get what you pay for...
Many kids I know haven't had any good luck with Sprint either. Maybe it's just something in Massachusetts. Whichever provider gives you the best coverage for the best price, go for it. Don't worry about the phone though, or going with one provider just to get a certain phone. IMO the phone itself isn't as important as the provider.

I have Verizon and I have stuck with them simply because of the best coverage area. I'd genereally advise you to do the same. I could have gone with sprint or nextel and gotten a cooler phone possibly, but what good is a nice phone if you can't get a signal... HTH

Stick with AT&T. They do have some good phones, you just have to search for them. I enjoy my phone, but that may be just because I have TETRIS on my phone. I don't know.
AT&T has great customer service, great coverage and decent prices...

I asked essentially the same question back in April, and did a poll too do a search on cell phone service or Nextel or the like and you'll find it. The poll results were quite interesting though I for proper design it should have been two questions, 1) Who is your current cellular provider, and 2) Who would you never use again? Also, try letstalk.com and inphonic.com for some good deals. HTH

I have Cingular Nation 500 anytime and 2k night weekends. NO roaming or long distance charges. $50 a month! I personally love Nokia phones and I probably won't buy anything else. I have an 8260 that I got for $100.

I actually have an extra 3360 for AT&T I need to get rid of. Great phone, but I just wanted a flip so I bought the new v.60. If you want to talk about this more, send me a PM.

Cingular, heres why. Cingular national plans give you free roaming right? Just like everyone? Wrong! Every other company gives you free roaming on THEIR network, you use any one elses tower and you still pay roaming. Cingular gives you free on and OFF network roaming so therefore making it the Largest nationwide carrier since you can share other major networks with no fee. Pretty damn good if you ask me
