Well, first, it's going about the size of the 5-series (189" long), so it's a bit bigger than I'd care for (6" shorter is ideal). However, the basic issue is that a sports sedan does not use a big cube V8. I want something with more finesse and sophistication, and gets better gas mileage. This thing will probably get about 18mpg overall, like Camaros get.
Also, FWIW, the Australian version is making only 300 hp.
Pricing should be decent, at least, in the $26-$28K range, using yesterday's exchange rates.
It's a muscle sedan, like the Marauder is going to be and the old Impala SS. I want something that isn't a throwback to the 60's, but uses a modern DOHC 24valve V6 or small 32valve V8.

Autoweek said that if they bring it in they not only have to change over to LHD, they have to re-do all the interior plastic bits because of North American temperature variations.
"Holden's GTS coupe may be first of several of GM Australian vehicles on way to U.S.
Holden's GTS coupe may not be the only Aussie runner that General Motors vice chairman Bob Lutz is eyeing for U.S. import. Word is that in addition to the 402-hp coupe, GM's product guru also likes the Maloo sport/ute (think Chevy El Camino) for these shores. Lutz reportedly wants GM to bring up to 20,000 Holden Monaro coupes per year to the United States, if the car can be economically adapted to meet federal crash regulations. Another obstacle: We're told a U.S. version would require reworking all the plastics for cold weather durability—not typically a problem Down Under where plastics must stand up to heat, but not cold. Redoing the plastics for U.S. vehicles could take up to two years, sources say. "

I've had a chance to drive one while over seas. It Rocks!!! They have them in LHD in Europe, and they call them Lumina's. It's a big mid sized car, alot like the size of the current Impala, just a hell of a lot nicer! As long as they don't "Americanize" it too much. Holden Commodore SS

Okay, but you're saying it's a "muscle car" because of the pushrod engine, but it's hard to argue the rest of the car, because the Z28 was a live axle car. That's the only thing in common with the Z28 and Vette, the engine. I don't like the fact that GM still uses pushrod technology, but don't tell me that it doesn't work, because the Z06 has 405 hp this year. And 350 CI? that's 5.7L, the MB E55 uses a 5.4L, and the BMW M5 uses a 5.0. I know your arguement is those cars are multiple cams, multiple valves, but the displacement is there as well. It's the Australian engine that makes 300 hp, but the "rumor" from Motor Trend is 350 hp here. Maybe some tweaking to be done by GM here? If you like your cars smaller with multiple cams, the Cobra or M3 is for you. For me, I need four doors with a newborn!

Lord know's anything's better than the god awful piece of donkey sh*t they try to pass off as an Impala but bringing over the commodore is fantastic. If they do bring over Holden's GTS 300 coupe, that will most likely be my next daily driver if the price is right. stazi know's whats up ..
