My Hotmail account gets about 40 spams a day. If you really want to eliminate spam, the only option is to set the account to delete anything not sent from addresses in your address book.
Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to purchase items over eBay, etc., since you will receive a purchase confirmation from the seller.
Many spams come from the same domain address. You can add these domains to your "block sender" list. This worked pretty well for me until I bought something from CDNow a few weeks ago :rolleyes:
