If there are other neighbors that could have possibly witnessed what happened tonight(from a window, or in the community area) you should act as an "Anonymous Concerned Neighbor" and call the police and tell them that you saw a dog attack another man's(you) dog, and that you are afraid for your childs safety because one of them was a pit bull that wasn't chained up. Maybe even call the rental office. Act as the third party when you call, tell them you don't want any trouble and would like to remain anonymous, then act surprized when the cops or the rental office show up at both of your doors to find out what happened. It may sound ****ed up, but at least he won't think you ratted him out when they ask to see insurance for the dog. That's what I would do. What if the next time your son is playing with your dog when the pit gets loose?
