I totally disagree with holding someone up if they are going what you consider to be "too fast." If you are in the fast lane, the road ahead of you is clear (at least clear enough to be considered "alone"), and someone is on your butt, why the heck would you choose to start something by holding them up? If you're not a cop, don't try to enforce the speed limit. Just get out of the way and hope they don't cause an accident with someone else.
I know everyone here speeds to some extent, so it's basically an issue of "I break the law, but I don't like the extent to which you're breaking the law."

Why ride someones a$$ and start something? If you want to pass, why not be courteous and wait till you have room to pass safely? Yes, most of us may speed to some extent, but only a few of those speeders like to drive like a horny dog on a hot summer's day, humping the back of other vehicals if they do not move out of the way! Good topic, perhaps a poll is in order? Nothing personal, just people with different driving habits and points of view! :p Stephen

Great point Viss1, let the police officers, Sandman333 and Co. ,do their jobs and just try and follow the rules of the road (including being courteous) yourself. Why indeed! Why not wait? Why ride someones a$$ and start something? If you want to pass, why not be courteous and wait till you have room to pass safely? Stephen I believe Viss1 was referring to IF there was no traffic ahead and you were the vehicle holding up someone who wanted to pass. Then why would you hold someone up? Wouldn't it then be your responsibility to be courteous to the driver and let him by if no traffic was ahead instead of holding him up because you would like to "teach him / her a lesson" This usually only causes anger among drivers, as in the OH Turnpike incident previously stated.

I know what he was saying, and my reply is that I have no problem letting someone pass, but if they are traveling so fast that one second nobody is behind me and the next second they are, then they tailgate to make me move out of the way, then there IS a problem!
Who causes "anger among drivers" the most? The driver who doesn't put up with this sh*t from the other driver or the driver who is forcing several people to move out of the way by tailgating?

Stephen[/b]I would say the driver who "doesn't put up with sh*t from other drivers" because...(as I said before) it is not his responsibility to delegate the road rules. If he feels he is being tailgated shouldn't he move out of the way (like it says in the drivers manual) and let the other driver by, rather than upsetting him more? I don't want to generate anymore of a debate then we already have, especially seeing as how this discussion has taken over the original topic, but in my humble opinion, people should just move over and let others who are driving faster by.
