I have a permanently (e.g. bolted in) installed Sabelt harness in my SVT. Since I wear that rather than the factory seatbelt, that annoying "buckle up, idiot" light is lit for a couple of minutes after starting the car.

Any easy way to disable that thing?

There is a switch built into the factory seatbelt receptical. If you plug in the other half of the seatbelt, like you would if you were putting it on the light would go out

Or you can take the left side seatbelt mount appart, find the wires and connect them together that should also turn the light off

In my car there is just a wiring harness with two wires in it. I unplugged that shortly after getting my car and thats all there is to it. IIRC, you shoul have the same harness as I do. HTH. laugh

How about you just pull the bulb from the dash. It takes about 5 minutes to take off (on a 96)....plus you get to find all the change that falls behind the plastic

My car must be a registered Libertarian, my seatbelt chime and light has not worked from day one! I like it that way.
