My goal now is to secure a NROTC scholarship and finish what I started at Texas A&M. This might actually work out. There is a really good Naval JROTC unit at one of the high schools I used to go to here in town. They did a lot with my AFJROTC outfit at the high school I graduated from. They'll be able to give me a lot of information and help with the scholarship.
It also turns out I have friends in high places. General Peter Pace, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs, is in the habit of writing recommendation letters for the sons and friends of sons of those he hob-nobs with in the Pentagon. One might be coming my way very shortly. I can only pray...
Anyway, right now I'm psyched about being denied into the USNA and with the prospect of returning to TAMU. All I have to do is fulfill an obligation as a counselor at Kid's Camp for my church and I'm off to S. California at the end of this month.
