but quickly, i'd just like to say, the reason people are saying "bad" (in some peoples eyes) stuff about the marines is because it *IS* so hard and you WILL learn much from it and it's not bashing the corps @ ALLLL to say it's tough and has it's dark sides to it.

and naturally, here shows the classic rival between Marines and Army and whoever else.. "i am the best and youre not" etc. etc. oohh boy

Your sort of right, but then again you are completely wrong. Try this, go to a Marine corps recruiter and try to get one specific job in your contract ironclad no room for wriggling you around: YOU CAN NOT DO IT, the Army is the only service that will GUARANTEE you one specific job. But lets just say for arguments sake that you could get that from the USMC, then ask that same marine recruiter (or the guy that writes out your contract at the MEPS station) to tell you what kind of enlistment bonuses you get IN YOUR CONTRACT. I guarauntee that the Army will give you more money(enlistment bonus/college or both) than the USMC will for the same job and same contract length.

1) didnt know you guys had meritorious promotions, cause I was in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and i went through school with the whloe base of Army students, and they told me that they didnt, and the last I heard, no one else did either, so maybe i got passed the wrong word.....

2) dont say your posts are better than mine, cause one, you are only one persons opinion and you havent read all of my posts and i havent read all of yours, so neither one of us has the right to judge one anothers posts!! so dont judge mine cause i have said nothing of yours... besides i am the leader of two big meets and i am in a few GBs and I am always the first to pay in full, or else i dont do it!!! and there isnt a hella lot of CEGers that do both and try workin on the Zetec to make a cheap but effective short ram intake tooo!!

3)I did not contradict myself this is what i was saying and what i am saying now...... The marine corps is not for everyone.. yes, making us the FEW, THE PROUD, THE UNITED STATES MARINES!!, but I also said that every male should do at least one enlistment, meaning whether or not you decide you wanna stay in is your choice but you will not regret the time you did serve, meaning you should serve, but most will not reenlist... so I actually didnt contradict, it may have seemed that way, but i didnt.....

So as I said before, not hackin on you personally, just tellin my experience with the army with my 9months livin on an army base dealin with the army PP and Students(recruits) which ive dealt with all three!!!oh and DS.. ..

I wish u no harm, but I do want to redeem myself since you so badly tried to destroy me not only in my marine corps, but as a CEGer which is just wrong... maybe i am takin it wrong, but i took it as a bashing, even when i am stayin professional, but you seem to go astray from you good professionalism as a serviceman... so go back and stay tactical, k? good, now I think I will go back to my VA forums and keep MY fellow VACEGers updated on our meets and my progresses with my mods.....

I could elaborate on this one, but im not... but I will say this, you are correct for the most part... BUT college has nothing to do with your MOS, contract, or whatever, if you are talkin bout deals then yes the army can give you a deal cause you are soooo fudgin big, and the marine corps is specialized, but, that doesnt mean it cant happen, and i got one hell of a deal if you ask me.. i got the MOS of my choice and that MOS came with a 5grand bonus, and I didnt even ask for it, it comes with the MOS which is how we work,... but there are other reasons why the Army can hook you up with a deal, but that is a hole other book, and I dont wanna get into it.

Hey, by posts I meant BASES, FORTS, CAMPS, STATIONS, whatever you want to call them, it was eluding to the fact that our quality of life is better that yours. I never even intended to attack you or the Corps for that matter, I just want to put out the FACTS. I am very appreciative of your work here on the CEG and the fact that you are serving the country as I am (although I have a much easier road)

The Army calls their installations "Posts". As in PX.. Post Exchange... Brush up on your lingo.

you overall standard of living is better, but im lucky... cause here at SOI camp geiger,NC (camp lejeune,nc) we have a brand new barracks!!!

so im living it up in a hotel style apt!!! i love it, yeah its kinda small, but ive lived in smaller worse conditions... umm, bivouac? shelter half? hmmm... streams? nah, wouldnt know about all of that!!

Well if you wanna compare deals, here goes. I enlisted as a 98XL for 6 years, that means I enlisted as a Military Intel linguist. I could've gotten my languge specified, but I just said "what the hell". So, I got a $16,000 cash signing bonus(payable upon completion of AIT) and $50,000 dollar Army College Fund/MGIB. And on top of that the Army taught me Korean at the Defense Language Institute(the best Language school in the World, i might add that as a civilian the school costs $400 a day), AND I got a top secret security clearance, which can be a VERY big deal when trying to get a job in the civilian world.
