So eloquent! LMAO! I love hot stuff. I ordered the hotest wings they have at BW3's here in GR but all they did was numb my lips. Their is a point where it's just not fun to eat. I buy fairly hot salsa and had my brother swing by the house and get into it when I wasn't looking. All I hear from the kitchen is, "Man what is this stuff?! HOT!" Guess he should have asked first. laugh

I think it gets to a point where its no fun anymore. I really like hot stuff and will eat stuff for a dare but for just enjoying food I like the heat level of say a fresh Jalapeno or one of those skinnly long green/red chillis. For example, biting into a fresh Habanero / scotch bonnet is not that enjoyable. I like the heat but after a while you cant taste anything.

My favorite pepper is your standard green chilli. There are also those really tiny green peppers that are about an inch long and fairly skinny. I they look like the larger chillis but just in miniature form. Dont know if they are really the same or not but are usually about 2x as hot.

One thing I cant stand is Tabasco. God. Its just like having pure vinegar.

anyone here tried REAL hot mustard btw? Got that hurts!! My grandmother was half russian and she used to make her own and it would make you cry wink

Probably Thai peppers. A little bit goes a long way with those. smile

Scotch bonnet == habenero. Two names for the same pepper.

Pfft, as if. Rookie, prepare for school.

Scotch Bonnet, Red

Habanero, Orange

Habaneros are king of the Scoville hill with the Scotch Bonnets being just a smidge off. Would seem to me that Scotchs could bypass some of the weaker Habs but overall, Habaneros will own you.

Two very nice sites:

And for my own tale of Habanero woe, forget about getting it in your eye (which I have). I forgot, once, to wash my hands before I, um, went number one eek . Now that was a whole new kind of PAIN laugh .

damn that sounds very painfull! I will not attempt to find out what that feels like!

As for my own funny story. Well the first time I bought daves insanity I had some with dinner and damn it was very hot. Anyway right after dinner, went to my GF's house and right when I walked through the door she pounced on me and gave me a big kiss then stopped very quickly when her lips and tongue were on fire. Needless to say that I was hot stuff that evening wink
