try this game.

nobody can talk.

there are groups of 3 or 4 per table.. however you want to do it.

Create a simple card game.

Make a variation of the rules for each table.

Winners move up a table, losers move back a table.

At the end of the game you should have some frustrated people? You'll see who is more dominating (those who enforce there set of rules) and those are more passive. (not that there is anything wrong with either)

This shows how things in the workforce are often misconstrued and being able to see each others perspective is important.

She (and everyone else) knows how geeky this is.

Look below the surface: by giving you a task like this, she is actually testing your ability to manage people.

Whatever you end up doing isn't the point, it's how you handle it that is important. Think of it as an opportunity... wink

(And FWIW, "Truth & Lie" looks like a good choice for all reasons - too bad a rousing game of Laser Tag isn't an option laugh )

Well, today was corny.. We spent the day training, but my boss felt the need to do 2 of these dumb exercises.

The first one was just to stand up, introduce yourself, and then describe yourself using an adjective that starts with the first letter of your first name. "Hi, I'm Tony. I'm a tool" I dunno, I forgot everyone's name within 2 minutes, but I'm not good with that stuff smile

Later on, we were broken up into 6 groups of 3. 3 groups were told to come up with 5 examples of good communication, the other 3 groups had to give examples of bad communication. She was trying to relate this to our work, and it did give us a chance to talk with some of these other people.. So it wasn't too bad, I guess.

I think the rest of the week is just training, she never mentioned us (me and the other leads) having to do this ice-breaker stuff. And then I go to Toronto next week to meet with the company that we're taking the work over from. Fun.

The only good news I got was that I don't start night shift until the 10th of June, so I can enjoy my life a little bit longer. smile
