There's an animal that lives in the woods around here... my friend's house is right in front of the woods and during the summer this thing screams during the night. The thing is that its screams sound like a little child screaming. First time I heard it I thought someone was being murdered... Someone tell me they know what kind of animal this is!!
I watched a show on either Discovery or TLC about 2 weeks ago about something very similar to this called The Jersey Devil. I don't know which side of PA you're on, but it could be the same thing!
The other night my kids were watching a movie in my room. I told my son to hit the sack when the time came, turned off the light and TV and decided to leave my daughter asleep on my bed until I came back upstairs (she's 2 1/2). About 11 o'clock she starts screaming "Daddy!!" really strangely. I go upstairs, hit the lights and pick her up. Before I even had the lights turned on she was saying "Daddy! Look!!". After the lights were on she kept saying it and pointing just outside my bedroom door in the hallway. The next day she told me she saw a ghost. I don't know where she learned about ghosts.....? The house is only a year old.
Another story: When I was in high school a buddy and myself were out on a Friday night driving the backroads (I grew up on Southern Oklahoma). We were passing all the regular tailgate party spots in hopes of finding some people. On one particular road we thought we saw reflections of tail lights ahead where we know people party. I didn't want to run over anyone, so I slowed down quite a bit as I closed in on them. We were maybe 50 yards out when a "pair" of the red lights moved just like eyes would if someone turned to look directly at you! I slammed on the brakes and the car came to a stop at about a 30 degree angle to the road. My lights were now shining into the trees, but I could still see the reflections! I turned off the headlights to be sure and I could still see the reflections! Not only that, but they started moving as if they were attached to something walking our way!! We got the hell out. We came back about an hour later to look for tracks (it had rained quite a bit earlier that day). We walked over 1/4 mile of road and never found anything! I still get chills telling the story.
Watch The History Channel. They have a show called History's Mysteries that'll give ya goose bumps
