when I was younger I thought my house had a ghost and that it made my My Buddy doll (ok I was 2-3) walk and talk. But it turns out that I'm phycologicaly scared (self diagnosed) for life be cause late one night my dad hid in my closet holding My Buddy infront of the door, 3 little words "Hello Little Boy" came from the closet, I saw the doll and had nightmares for years.

Its hard for me to still be in the same room with that thing

that's pretty crazy. i have had some similar experiences in my grandmother's house. just candles blowing out and my sheets untucked when i get home from work even when i made the bed in the morning.

ghosts are neat. just treat them like guests!

an aquaintence of mine had her own ghost. it started following her after moving into an old house. every night at just after midnight, she would hear a wheezing, choking sound, that would stop after a few minutes. Her room was also colder than all of the other rooms in the house. No matter what they did, it was measureably colder (always 5 degrees IIRC). She changed rooms, and the new room was now colder.

When she moved out, it followed her to her apartment. It stayed with her for a long time. At one point, her abusive husband beat her up very bad. After that night, the room was warm, and her old room at her families old house became cold again.

turns out they got a steal on the house because the previous owner had a nervous breakdown because she kept hearing the sounds her late husband made when he died of a heart attack. She completely lost her sanity.

My house is haunted, no joke.
I live ina 100+ yr old victorian home and when we bought it there wasn't even modern style locks on any of the doors. Each door had a skeleton key bolt lock, which obviously we added deadbolts to the main doors and never used the skeleton locks. About 6 months after we added the dead bolts, a friend of mine was over and my entire family was present when all of the old skeleton locks on the outside doors(which take a little muscle to lock them..) all locked simultaneously, effectively locking everyone in the house. It took us about an hour to find the skeleton keys to unlock the doors because they weren't where we put them. The next day all of the bolts for them were removed.
We also hear foot steps in our 2nd floor hallway regularly, it usually starts out as a door opening then slamming closed, the sound of footsteps across the hallway to another room, the door opens and then slams.
There was an old man who passed in the house, we regularly see his figure around the steps to the 2nd floor. He has also been known to push grown men down the steps. At first I didn't believe that when I was told about it, until I saw my step dad literally hurled down the steps and almost through a window.
Stuff is always turning up missing, only to reappear right where it was left a short time later. The 3rd floor attic light turns on by itself.
Sometimes we even hear singing.

My in-laws in Geneseo, NY have a little girl that lives in one of the bedrooms (house was built in 1860's). Problem is, they don't have any little girls.

Usually, I write that stuff off but since three our four people swear they saw or experienced something, you have to listen at least...

I, myself, have stayed in that room several times with no weird events so who knows...

I like to say I don't believe in ghosts or anything...but I've had some weird experiences. Most have been written off as dreams, kinda like whne you're awake but not quite IE: I've had a choking feeling, I've heard people yelling at me, just feelings of things moving around me. However, I have also had a few experiences where I was wide awake. I remember one time I was standing in my dining room, munching something and this black shadow type thing shot up the wall and disappeared. I caught it out of the corner of my eye. It wasn't from outside, was night time and the blinds were closed, no fans, no anything moving just me and my dog...weird hting is, the dog jumped at it and then ran upstairs after it. I was just standing there like WTF?? Another time I remember waking up cause the dog was barking and she's standing on the edge of my bed bugging out like something was there and there wasn't. Other small things happen like the dog waking sitting up and looking around at night, but that's probably nothing. Weird for sure, and my house is new. If I had things pushing people down the stairs, I would move the hell out of thehouse....seriously!

Remember Unsolved Mysteries? I remember one story about a house where late at night it would sound like there was someone throwing chairs and tables into the walls (crashing/breaking sounds) and the noise sounded like it was coming 10 feet from you! The owners of the house even convinced some brave individuals to stay in the room for one night to prove they weren't lying....lets just say those individuals were scared out of their minds. eek Weird...

I hate old houses! My families house, 100+ years old, is not as bad as WorldTour's. Thankfully I don't live there but one time I was talking to my friend on the phone late at night after everyone had gone to bed and I heard the Shower turn on, but I knew no one was in there because I could see the door the entire time. It freaked me out so bad I wouldn't let my friend hag up. The next morning I found out that my great grandmother had died right in that area of the house. Lets just say I don't spend the night there very often any more.
